How does Lorecast know when to play a story?
Start a drive on a supported route and allow location access. Lorecast uses your position and direction of travel to play stories about places ahead of you. Set everything up before you start driving.
Does it work without phone signal?
Yes. Download your route and its audio while you have a connection. Downloaded stories can play using GPS without mobile data. Do this before you travel, and check that the download has finished.
Is Lorecast a navigation app?
Lorecast is your audio storyteller. Keep using your preferred navigation app for directions, current road closures and traffic. You can listen through your car’s speakers using your phone’s audio connection.
What can I listen to for free?
You can try selected stories from the regions in the app. All Lorecast stories on Route 66 are free through December 31, 2027. Other full regions require an eligible pass or available region pack.
Can I listen before I get there?
Absolutely. Open “Listen to a demo” in the app, choose a region and hear a selection of its stories from wherever you are. You don’t need to start a drive or use GPS for the demo.
Do passes renew automatically?
No. The 7-day, 30-day and annual passes are one-time purchases for a fixed period. Selected region packs give you permanent access to that region. Check current availability and prices in the app before purchasing.
Which languages and phones are supported?
Stories are currently in English. Lorecast is available for iPhone and Android. Check the App Store or Google Play listing for your device’s compatibility.
